Type "A" War Office 1st pattern helmet with Dark brown rough texture crown with raw edge non - magnetic shell .Inner brim with makers stamps .Sides of brim with wire loop chinstrap loops . Black linen six tongue 1st pattern liner sweatband . Leather chinstrap broken with riveted section absent . Some service wear, paint chips and minor wear but a good World War one helmet as first used at the battle of the Somme in 1916 .Untouched example and has been left as found .
